8 Day Lagaleden Coast Expedition
Paddle Across Sweden from Forest to Sea
Experience an unforgettable canoe journey across southern Sweden, following the historic Lagaleden canoe trail from the forests of Småland all the way to the Kattegat coast. Our 8-Day Lagaleden Coast Canoe Expedition begins at the southern end of Lake Bolmen and follows the River Lagan as it flows steadily toward the sea.
Along the way you’ll paddle through changing landscapes — from quiet forest lakes and wildlife-rich wetlands to open river valleys and scenic countryside. The journey passes peaceful villages, historic river sections, and beautiful natural areas rarely explored by international paddlers.
Each day brings new scenery as the river gradually widens and the landscape opens toward the coast. Nights are spent at carefully selected camps along the water, where evenings are enjoyed around the campfire with good food and the sounds of nature.
This expedition is designed for paddlers who want to experience the full journey of the Lagan River, travelling by canoe from inland forests to the Swedish west coast, a true Scandinavian water adventure.

Water Adventures Around Agundaborg – More About the Routes
The waterways around Agundaborg offer a beautiful mix of calm rivers, quiet lakes, and scenic paddling routes. Many canoe trips follow the gentle flow of the Helge Å, winding through forest landscapes, open lake sections, and peaceful natural areas that are perfect for relaxed exploration.
Some stretches are narrow and sheltered with overhanging trees and wildlife close by, while others open up into wider lakes where you can enjoy expansive views and take a refreshing swim along the way. The routes are suitable for both first-time paddlers and more experienced adventurers, with plenty of places to stop for breaks, lunch, or an outdoor fika.
All routes follow Allemansrätten, Sweden’s right of public access. This means you can enjoy nature freely while respecting the environment and local landowners. Please land only in suitable places, leave no trace, and keep a respectful distance from houses and wildlife.
