8-Day Coast to Coast Expedition

Ride across Sweden from coast to coast

Experience an unforgettable cycling journey across southern Sweden, connecting the Baltic Sea with the Kattegat coast through forests, lakes and quiet countryside. Our Coast to Coast Gravel Expedition follows carefully selected backroads and gravel tracks through some of the most beautiful yet lesser-known landscapes in Småland and Halland. Along the way you’ll ride through vast forests, peaceful farm villages and endless stretches of smooth Scandinavian gravel. You can choose between two versions of the expedition:

Westbound Epic
From Kalmar to Varberg, Daily distances: 90–110 km

Eastbound Tour
From Varberg to Kalmar, Daily distances: 65–85 km

The Westbound Epic is designed for riders seeking a more demanding challenge, while the Eastbound Tour offers a more relaxed pace with slightly shorter daily rides. From the historic castle of Kalmar to the impressive seaside fortress of Varberg or the other way around, this journey reveals some of our favourite “crown jewel” gravel locations in a region still largely undiscovered by international cyclists.

Cycling Around Agundaborg – More About the Routes

The area around Agundaborg is known for its excellent mix of gravel and paved cycling routes. Gravel rides take you along quiet forest roads, smooth double-track paths, and short, easy asphalt links—perfect for gravel or hybrid bikes with slightly wider tyres. If you prefer a smoother ride, our paved routes follow calm country roads with minimal traffic and no major roads, making them enjoyable for all types of bicycles.

All routes follow Allemansrätten, Sweden’s right of public access, and have been fully tested by our cycling guide. Even if a road is marked “Private,” the route remains legal to ride. Please close gates behind you, be mindful of horses, and greet others with a friendly “hej.”
